Tina Porou is a geographer and has worked in the taiao space for 25 years. She has a broad range of experiences as a planner with a focus on resource management from a Te Ao Māori lens, freshwater, climate change, taiao-centred economic management, forestry and strategy.

Te Rina Porou is a dynamic storyteller and communications professional whose work bridges the worlds of media, culture, and te reo Māori. With a Bachelor of Communications and a strong foundation in mātauranga Māori, Te Rina has a passion for crafting narratives that celebrate both individual and collective identities.

Pia Pohatu - kaimahi ENVIROMENTAL PLANNER

Ngāti Porou, Rongowhakaata, Ngāi Tāmanuhiri 

Pia Pōhatu is a researcher and advocate for Māori landowners, focused on sustainable land use and environmental stewardship. Based in Ruatōria with Hikurangi Enterprises, she has worked on carbon farming and supports mana whenua in managing freshwater fisheries, centring indigenous knowledge in her mahi.

Stacey Konui - Kaimahi ENVIROMENTAL PLANNER

Stacey works with iwi, hapū, and stakeholders to develop environmental strategies that honour Māori perspectives and support sustainable resource management. Her approach is grounded in kaitiakitanga and a deep connection to her iwi, ensuring development aligns with cultural values and the wellbeing of the whenua and wai.

Beth Tupara-Katene - kaimahi ENVIROMENTAL PLANNER

Ngāti Oneone, Te Aitanga a Hauiti, Whanau a Kai, Te Aitanga a Mahaki, Ngai Tāmanuhiri

Beth is an Environmental Planner with over 10 years' experience in government and Māori organisations. She specialises in ocean policy and resource management, and played a key role in the Māori Commercial Aquaculture Settlement.

In addition to her role at Poipoia, Manaia is a Trustee of the Lake Taupō Forest Trust, contributing to the sustainable management and protection of forest lands within the Lake Taupō region. Manaia's commitment to her community and the environment is evident through her professional endeavors and her active participation in initiatives that promote environmental stewardship and cultural heritage.
